This guitar solo oozes with wonderful tone and musicality. I would give anything to play like this guy does.
Thanks for the wonderful upload and inspiration.

And to think, some people think that the guitar player from Syndrome of the Downs (AkA System of the Downs) is the best guitar player in the world..

doug aldrich is fucking amazing, shows it more in other videos, seriously underrated. i saw whitesnake at download festival this year and he was having a massive guitar face off with reb beach. Reb got owned in my opinion but still everyone in the crowd was fucking creamin over it lol sent shivers down my spine and i think a bit of jiz actually came out. incredible blues player as well

yes, the tone is cool…and so its his touch,
but his style is so old -fashioned…same old pentatonics, since the Ace Frehley times…a little bit of nice guitar lines, a la steve vai,but without sounding too much technique-oriented…
    a little over rated , innit ?
    nice keyboards, though

Those Marshalls have been modded with bigger transformers according to Doug, you can see this on the Dunlop site featuring him and his guitars and rig. Looks like he uses a Furman Parametric eq, Bradshaw mixing wet/dry/wet one head at a time being switched in the signal at a time, TC Electronics G Major 2, Boss SE-70, Dunlop Cry Baby Rack Wah. Doug Aldrich pickups have a little more output with a little more high-midrange cut retaining the warmth and the clarity in the lows and the highs.

Sorry but the Vintage Modern wasn’t even in existance then, It’s an old Super Lead modded by Martin Golub, and a Super Lead Modded by Mark Cameron he runs them both together.. if anyone tells you otherwise they’re talking crap, if u think Doug is actually using the Vintage Modern your so wrong.

what a ridiculous solo ..whitesnake used to be such a good band in 1979 .. now they are a caricature of their old selves

Hotrodded Marshall Vintage Modern by Suhr and he’s got some sort of boost in front of it. And he sounds a lot like this in his Dio Video with his Strat, not just the LP.
