You are right, I also noticed that. Iggy is a wise and thoughtful person, unlike other people who get carried away speaking stuff that come from emotional reactions or fake stuff that is used to be socially accepted. Iggy truly is a role model to follow.

Lisa–he says “Dionysic” refering to the Greek god. He was basically the god of partying. Iggy explains what he means in the Tom Snyder interview.

Why does he look at Iggy Pop like an Exotic Fruit??? Because, Iggy Pop is an authentic Man. He is the antithisis of Natural State of Free Man and Music.

He said on one of his interviews the word “dianesic” and I am trying to help my bestfriend find out the meaning. I dont know what interview it is but does anyone know what that darn word means. I can’t find it and we dont know how to spell it. Thanx!!! Lisa and F.

To all the people talking down to iggy for talking about punk in a bad way: That’s not what he’s doing. The term “punk” was still derogatory at this point, more synonymous with the prison sense of the word. It was still an insult at this point, not yet what people were calling the style. Punk rockers of the day didn’t all like the term. He’s not saying THE MOVEMENT is for dilettantes etc, he’s saying the critics calling it punk rock are those things.

he’s also weird in the first place, and he was pissy in those days because of his heroin usage.

I think he was just pis*sed that he couldn’t perform with his band… So he went out there with a bad attitude. When you travel around and are trying to get exposure… this must have really been frustrating… he’s out on stage having to talk to someone who doesn’t even know who he is and his band sitting back in the “green” room. I do love how he tries to connect with the audience though. I think it’s honest!

Iggy was doing his best to be respectful, cooperative and truthful. The problem was, this was iggy in his drug heyday. The delayed response to the questions and rather crazy Dennis Hopper type musings should be some indication. At this point in Iggy`s career, he was probably stoned, drunk and strung. The fact he had his morals in check amazes me. He could have been a Lydon esque asshole.

no, whats “mean” is acting like you are better then other people because you chose to put different things into your body, whats mean is locking up people who sells drugs to feed their families, whats mean is ruining a kids life by kicking them out of college over a joint.
    now kindly stfu

Iggy wasn’t given fame & glory – he earned it.

He’s right: ‘punk rock’ was a marketing tool to get your money.

arrogant fucker. Show a little humility for the fame and glory you’ve been given. Answer the questions intelligently instead of trying to be all vague and enigmatic for the sake of it. I didn’t learn a damn thing about him.
