No, his strat made in 1954.

Currently however (After this performance his signature line was released) he uses his signature guitars.

From what I recall from talking to his drummer and such, the Echoplex goes into his Fender and the EHX is there to add more delay when needed. His MXR1500 adds delay to the Marshall and he pushes the Marshall more with the BK Butler which gives the violin tone. The plexi is from the handwired series, so it’s relatively new.

I also heard he had his Marshalls are modded for a reverb patch, as did Clapton.

Anyway, I was going by most of the info I read on his rig (being a guitar geek myself I’ve done my homework)
Also, there is a recent Harmony Central video series featuring him discussing everything about the rig – check that out.
I haven’t heard about a reverb unit IN the Marshalls. Good idea, though – I wish the plexis had ‘verb.

I was about to recommend you the same video, nice thinking. EJ has really inspired me to play (On a more serious style) than I did before.

As for Tommy Taylor, he is a frequent poster on EJ’s forum’s on his site. Easy way to talk to him is through that, he answers a lot of questions related to EJ’s rig’s and guitars. The reverb unit in the Marshall I heard through some other people and while browsing. It sounds like there is some reverb on a lot of his live performances.

A lot of the reverb is coming from the PA (Tone freak Eric Johnson probably says the verb drowns the tone) He’ll use the reverb on his Twin Reverbs for clean, though.
And there’s also the post-mic delay from the MXR 1500 adding to the mix
But in the end, EJ could sound good through the freaking Fender Frontman 15G
