I’m only replying cause when I heard this song I imjmediatelt thought Beatles. Any Beatles fan can listen to this and pick out no less than 8 (that’s right
pieces of music taken directly bar for bar from Beatle Releases …several from Abbey Road alone. Good thing the Beatles didn’t make Cheap Trick puke, else “Voices” would not have sounded so great.

You don’t think they’re influensed by the beatles? It’s clear they like the beatles, as they have covered them several times, and this song is clearly influensed by beatles, just listen to while my guitar gently weeps and you’ll see clear similaritys, also, I seriously doubt The Beatles, or any other musical act, makes you puke.

I can safely say they were influenced by the Beatles, and be sure they would not be offended by the fact. I played their songs for years in my band and there is no question about influence. But, to clarify, they (Cheap Trick) were a huge influence on me with or without Beatles. They will always be one of my favorites.

“Influenced by the beatles”?? HAH!
You have 4 extremely talented musicians, each from different backgrounds & influences. They may have practiced to beatles songs when they were starting out, but there’s NOTHING “Beatle” about them, or their music.
Even their look – I remember Robin in parachute pants, Tom in blue jeans & flannel, Rick in Prep-school with the long-billed hat & dual or even 3-neck guitar & Bun E (as always) in his “swiss watch-maker” clothes.
“Beatles” .. make me PUKE!

Always been one of my favorite Cheap Trick songs.
*Didn’t realize it was featured on How I met Your Mother.
Glad they are getting the exposure they deserve!
